Diversity, Equity and Inclusion #2
We teach our team to be cognisant of the meaning of diversity and acknowledge the social constructed identities as part of our company fully integrated and equally important in our work-life environment.
We use simplicity and clear communication in relation to: race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, religion/spirituality, nationality and socioeconomic status.
We promote: accountability and transparency in our meetings and conversations, we notice diversity or the lack of it in the team discussions and we positively reinforce the curiosity of all members into asking questions and keep learning from one another.
Reflection and reaction #1
Do entrepreneurs need to actually see an iceberg with their own eyes in order to steer clear of it?
The reason why it’s such an important question is that, in my experience, the faster someone is likely to act when a negative outcome becomes inevitable, the more likely they are to succeed.
That’s because determination combined with passion always wins. But if you need that iceberg to be so unmistakable in order to avoid it, to have it right off your bow, then it’s probably too late to change course.
Be stubborn on your vision so you don’t give up, and flexible on your execution so you can change course along the way.
Long before you crash into that iceberg define better your strategy, give yourself time to make one step at a time, be persistent in your vision but elastic in your business choices.
